About the Experiment

The Global Dream Experiment is a worldwide research initiative to collect, analyze, and understand dream patterns across cultures, time zones, and human experiences.

Our Mission

Understanding the Universal Language of Dreams

Dreams have fascinated humanity for millennia. Every night, billions of people enter the mysterious realm of sleep, experiencing vivid narratives, emotions, and imagery that have inspired art, science, and philosophy.

The Global Dream Experiment seeks to answer fundamental questions: Are there universal dream themes shared across cultures? Do seasonal patterns affect our dreams? What can collective dream data tell us about the human psyche?

By aggregating anonymized dream data from thousands of participants worldwide, we're building the largest database of dream patterns ever assembled.

Research Goals

  • Identify universal dream themes and symbols
  • Track seasonal and global event correlations
  • Map cultural differences in dream content
  • Understand lucid dreaming prevalence
  • Create open datasets for dream research

Privacy & Transparency

Understand What You're Sharing

Before participating, please understand how your data is handled. We believe in complete transparency about what is shared publicly.

1

De-Identified, Not Anonymous

Username & email removed

Your username and email are never displayed with your dreams. However, de-identification is not the same as full anonymization—the content of your dreams may still contain personal details that could identify you.

2

Dreams Are Made Public

Individual dreams are published

When you submit a dream to the Global Dream Experiment, your dream content, location (country & region), age, gender, and submission date become publicly viewable on this website.

3

Voluntary Participation

You choose what to share

Participation requires your explicit opt-in consent for each dream submission. Only premium members who actively choose to contribute are included in the experiment.

4

Deletion Requires Action

Contact support to remove data

You may request deletion of your GDE submissions by contacting support. Important: You must request deletion BEFORE deleting your Dream Drifter account, or your submissions may remain public.

Please read our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy to understand the full scope of the Global Dream Experiment.

Open Data for Research

Our quarterly reports and downloadable datasets are made freely available to researchers, students, and curious minds worldwide. We believe in open science and transparent methodology.
